Pray tell kind sir, exactly how were those monsters grown? Were those largest of specimens in jars or bags and for how long? Multi-spore or isolated strain? And to what do you attribute their phenomenal size?
Oh yeah, one more thing, CLONE THAT MOTHERFUCKER!!!

>>And to what do you attribute their phenomenal size? I talk to them a lot Seriously, it is a pure-strain inoculation. The bags are inoculated with mycelial suspension through a syringe and the hole is taped. They are shaken and placed in darkness at 20-23oC. That's really all there's to it

How does sclerotia compare to the fruits via weight. What do they dry down too, 10% of the weight fresh???

sclerotia are roughly 30% dry matter, so they dry down to a little more than 30& of the fresh weight.

Bringing back the dead. Were these monsters grown with your tampanensis or the mexicana? I am thinking of tring the mexicana, but from reading your site it seems like you have the best luck from the tampanensis. Also can you get decent yeilds with multispore?

Actually, I was on a visit to Amsterdam and came across a vendor offering these under the name of 'Philosopher Stones'. The shop, I believe, was called "Conscious Dreams" or something. I ate two of these and each were about the size of a US quarter coin. Very nice experience. They really had no taste and were similar to texture as very soft nuts like Macadamias.
I was curious. Do you get this rock-looking growth by simply growing invitrio? Can you give us some details, Una?
appreciatively,

Ok so if someone wants to continue those genetics would you cut a piece from the best sclerotia, then get it back to veg state then fruit and collect spores? How would one go about getting that piece of sclerotia to go back into growth and possible fruit as is????? Ordered strain A yesterday....... Gonna work on this....Whats the standard for getting the Mexicans to fruit...Lent out the TMC for a few weeks so I cant refer back...Being the good guy I am...J

>How would one go about getting that piece of sclerotia to go >back into growth and possible fruit as is????? Cut a piece of the sclerotia inner tissue and place on agar. It will revert to vegetative growth again, then you can use this mycelium as your stock culture.

Much? No, not much. I fruited them once and I have some jars with sclerotia going. But I tried the aforementioned procedure with tampanesis scerotia and it turned out ok.

Can you do this with spores?? I don't master the agar tehnique yet. For example, inoculate spores instead of mycelium?

I was really trying to see if anyone had a tech to fruit the sclertia directly...In nature these are produced to withstand unideal conditions then when its optimal growth continues. Now would it start back in veg or would it fruit immediately to reproduce???Any ideas???whats the experience on these like ???more energetic or drunk wobbley>Closer to a pan buzz?????Thanks.
