humidity/water build up
    #615953 - 04/23/02 12:01 AM (21 years, 11 months ago)

my buddy has a closet set-up that uses a warm and cool mist hum. warm provides the right temp and cool helps as well as keeps the hum circulating from bottom up. the shelves are heavy duty and made of alumin with ample space between bars coming from anchoring. the type you find in most hardware stores such as lowes, where they can cut to size.

now, his problem lies with a build up of water around the shelves that are constantly dripping on to casing. he considered drip shield but that would prevent even cirulation and distribution of hum. and air. is his hum. too high?..peaking at 98 sometimes plus. dont see how too much would hurt during casing period up to formation of pins. any ideas on what he should do under these circumstances? he doesnt want to use drip shields. should he lower the hum do ideal 92-95 to make less water build up? please help..trying to perfect my new project...will send pics of my set-up in few weeks if interested. need to get a dig cam. thanks for time.....

Wipe the areas that form condensation with a light layer of petrolium jelly. No more condensation. You can also raise the back end of your chambers a bit so condensation that does form tends to run towards a side rather than just dripping down.
