Who do you want to win the presidency in 2008?

I'm hoping for McCain. He seems to be the most compasionate and open minded of the republicans. Not only was he a POW, but his own son is serving overseas so I'm sure he'd think twice before getting us involved in some frivilous campaign.
I'd shit a brick if either Gulliani or Hillary won. Gulialli is a douche and Hillary does nothing but complain.
Who else has a shot?

I voted for Nader in the last election. I was in California at the time. I had to "write him in". Technically I typed his name into a computerized booth.
I almost considered voting for Kerry until he fought hard to keep Nader off the ballot. I thought that was dishonest and shameful and started my hatred of John Kerry. Bush was an obvious no-vote. At the time I was hard core green party but not sure who to vote for. The Kerry-Nader thing was the nail in the coffin that made me vote for Nader even thought I know he had even less of a chance that he did in 2000.
Since then I've become a libertarian.
I'd love more than anything to see Jello Biafra win.. hah... but realistically.. McCain

Ideally? Thomas Friedman or James P. Gray
Of the people likely to run? Russ Feingold
Realistically? I don't know. The Democrats that I like don't really stand a fighting chance, and the Republicans I like tend to alienate the religious right, which would seem to throw them out of the running. I'd say McCain, but honestly, I doubt he's going to get it.

Gingrich?!?!? HAH! I hope your're joking. This is the man that tried to start a bill years ago to give mandatory DEATH penalty for ***anyone*** importing 4+ oz of marijuana in the country. Why not just elect Pat Robertson if you're going down that route.
And Kennedy.... man... I'd leave the country...
either that or throw money in pharmaceutical and liquor stock.
Dean and Kennedy? naaa... the Dead Kennedys... hell yea
Gulliani is a scumbag mayor that happened to be mayor at the time of 9-11. That's the only reason ppl like him. He has the nerve to have his mistress sleep at his house but he cuts the funding to a museum because a painting of a 'crackwhore' as the virgin mary offends his VALUES? Hah! Fuck him. 9-11 was a terrible thing and not to belittle it.. but too bad Gulliani wasn't on top of one of the towers that morning... or even better.. Hillary

No one.
The US needs another Emperor. Joshua Norton did fine the first time around, infinitely better than any politician has ever done in the history of the United States, so why not just find another Emperor of the United States (and Protector of Mexico) to issue decrees for us?

In 1982 Gingrich also sponsored a bill intended to end the Federal prohibition on marijuana as medicine.

How does he go from that to the death penalty??? I wonder why he changed his mind???

Sorry, but I am not going to vote for somebody that flies around the country in their gas guzzling jet aircraft telling me how bad I am for using fuel and killing the planet. Reminds me of Clinton (before he got elected) when I saw him at an evironmental event with a styrofoam coffee cup in his hand.
I am also not going to vote for somebody that sat by and watched for eight years as more than 700,000 american citizens were put in prison for the crime of smoking cannabis.

No. In the past, I had a registered address in the US, and was working down here on contract. I could vote through an absentee ballot. (Un)fortunately, I am no longer a US resident, so I cannot sneak around the system.

I will seriously concider voting Libertarian as well. They most closely match what I desire from this country.

Meh. I've made the mistake of voting Libertarian just because the guy was libertarian. I voted for Badnarik last election, but now whenever I look back at his speeches, I'm struck by how idiotic he is. But I have no regrets about voting for Jim Gray.

The US needs another Emperor. Joshua Norton did fine the first time around, infinitely better than any politician has ever done in the history of the United States, so why not just find another Emperor of the United States (and Protector of Mexico) to issue decrees for us?
Agreed... The Republic was dissolved by a Royal edict on the 26th day of July, 1860. All of this "voting" is utter nonsense. We need to restore power to our Absolute Monarchy, but who could possibly be man enough to fill the shoes of His Imperial Majesty?
