damn looks like a lot of poo to spawn ratio. I have a casing going at the moment with about the same ratio. I broke up the spawn pretty good, trying not to leave clumps of spawn through out the poo. How long will it take for the spawn to show growth in the poo?

I use 2 quarts for 5 lbs but I am sure u can go lower than that if you are willing to wait longer for colonisation.

i usually mix the spawn evenly throughout the substrate to help colonize faster, but it usually takes about a day for the myc to recover and get fuzzy again, then anywhere from 3-7 days to fully colonize, depending on a number of different variables, including moisture, temperature, FAE, exact ratio or spawn to poo, etc

The only thing I'm worried about is the temp. Right now the area were my casings are sitting is at 71 degrees Fahrenheit.
What does FAE mean?
-Thanks

fresh air exchange, basically cover with foil and poke holes in it so air can get in. i dont know anybody that incubates during spawning, usually due to lack of a large enough incubator, so i wouldnt worry about the temp too much, it may take a tad longer but it will go eventually

I incubate during spawning. It has worked well for me.
