It may kill the computer, and may dry out the cakes. Inside the machine there is a certain amount of dust. This will be gradually burnt over a period of time. This makes the air dry, and that?s why I believe this is not such a good idea.

bad idea!

your substrate would dry out...bad thing!

but....you can dry your shrooms out....on top of the computer though!
just lay them on top of paper towels.....drys them right out.

Bad for both, the jars are in the way of the air currents that have been scientificly placed for best airflow. Putting a jar in the way will disrupt that and cause the heat to increase in the case, once things start (read as: temps were fine and have been fine for a good while) heating up in there they generally dont stop and go up very gradually shortening the life of everything. And two, unless you filter the intakes, and seal the rest of the case dust is literally sucked in through an crack, depending on your air pressure. With all that moving air the jars will dry out, also with more moving air more air is bound to enter the jar, leading to more contaims.
