GT VS B+
    #615634 - 04/22/02 02:55 PM (21 years, 7 months ago)

I was wondering why my freinds B+ jars have been completly covered in about 10 days or so... And his GT jars have been sitting around for 10 days, and have made nearly no progess at all. The GT jars have grown less than a cm in diameter.... And the GT's didn't even start colonizing at each four innocluation points, usually just one or two...

i've heard GT's were ravenous, whats keeping them slow... why are they being retarded?

When you inoculated the jars you should pluck or tap your syringe a couple of times and shake it around to move the spore inside the water. Also GT's love very warm temps to start spawn in jars. I have noticed GT's love it around a constent temp of 85 or alittle higher. My GT jars were ready in less then 5 days.

Here's another tid bit. Back off the jar lids a 1/4 to 1/2 turn so some gas exchanges take place. I put alluminum foil on them and set the jar lid on and turn it alittle(not tight). Also make sure you have humidity in your incubator. Use a good dose of H2O2 in your water inside the incubator. I have also place H2O2 soaked sponges inside for humidity. The only thing you really have to worry about is contams. The peroxide should take care of this. I also give it a spray of lysol.
