Good bread, where art thou'
    #6155382 - 10/10/06 06:17 PM (17 years, 4 months ago)

why cant i find any bread like the kind subway uses... just a fresh footlong wheat bread roll? the closest alternatives are the baggettes the grocery stores make. they are usualy french or sourdough... but you know what? they suck for that sandwhich i'm lookin to make. All the rolls in the bread aisle suck, and even the loose sandwhich rolls are just cut up store baked crap... i got half a mind to learn a recipie and make my own... has anyone ever seen the bread that they use for sale in the stores?

I'm pretty sure you can buy the Subway bread (or dough) from Subway, but don't quote me.

Kalamata bread is fantastic though, but that's another story.

they are the style i want, the wheat bread is good. Not the best but it's that style... most of the grocery stores with bakers have crappy crunch/dense bread. i want a nice fluffy bread.

jimmy johns... those assholes wont put pickles on my sandwhich... 45 cents aint bad, but that's 19 blocks away, and it would cost like, $2 to park...

Yeah I hear ya man, I'm tired of those weak ass rolls.  I stick to kaiser rolls, they have the perfect consistency for sandwiches.  I hate when my dad brings home those plain, really soft hoagie rolls.  Kaiser's where it's at

"yea, i'd like to order 1 day old bread please, and can i get that delivered"

i only been to jimmy johns once, it was pretty tasty...

those hoagie rolls that have the consistincy of a hamburger bun piss me off.. i just want some good fresh bread... kaiser, i recon i must have tried em... i almost wanna say i just need some oversized wheat hot dog buns... they are usualy pretty fluffy... but i know they dont taste that good...

and when i do find the bread i need, i just know it's going to cost bank.

Ah. I dunno, my grocery store at home bakes good bread, and at school (now) I get it at a farmer's market.
