Eh, shes got a point homie, you can last to stay away from the shroomery to give her some of that happy time, before you end up having the computer as your only happy time.

Nah I just see it as pointless hassle. Conflict without a reason. What someone says on the internet doesn't really bother me - but its aggression without a purpose.
Hence why I stick to the pub. The people are nice, the mood is good and it just feels generally chilled out.

She thinks I spend too much time on the computer and a lot of that time recently has been spent on the Shroomery (as you can tell from my whopping 250 posts, sarcasm he he). She just posed the question "What's so great about this Shroomery anyway?"
Well... Anyone care to offer their opinion?
My girlfriend's convinced that at least a couple girls will chime in and say that I should be spending more time with her. We'll see.
the shroomery will always be here, your girlfriend could be gone tomorrow, so spend as much time with her while you are priviledged to do so. the shroomery will never replace or bestow a greater bond than what you may share with a real life partner;
"whats soo great about the shroomery?" ISNT the problem. the problem is, your girlfriend has a complaint. & that complaint is that you spend alot of time on the computer.
the ROOT of the complaint is that the computer takes your attention away from her. she feels neglected. and if her complaints go unanswered, she will then feel ignored. then she'll eventually feel dismissed.
the root will continue to branch until she breaks your computer, or breaks your heart when she finds a man who can give her the attention she desires.
dont get me wrong tho, everyone needs their alone time, you dont need to give her ALL of your time, so long as you 2 communicate, compromise & make agreements, everything will be fine.

The shroomery is where some of the coolest and craziest people in the world are drawn to. But don't neglect your girl because of it. Anyway, if you're in love then that's just a small situation which you could easily remedy by not spending time on the shroomery around her, and instead spending time with her. Unless you live together, in which case be like deal with it I see you all the time, I love you baby. So yeah, spend more time with her. I'm not a chick though so I don't know if my opinion counts

nothing, spend time with your GF, if you love her, show her... you'll lose her otherwise
Uhhh... gotta say that sounds like bad advice to me. Gotta keep the ladies wanting more afterall. Neglect (in very minor doses) goes a long way to keeping both people interested and into each other.
Sounds like his girl just wants more attention. That's a good place to be! Now if she was threatening to leave... crumple like a microwaved dixie cup!!! (if she matters)
And to answer the question: I like the shroomery for the wealth of knowledge, but mostly for the personalities of a decent number of people on here. You guys and gals rock my sox and I salute you.

My boyfriend spends all day/night on the shroomery and as a result, he doesn't have any real-life friends and he never goes anywhere with me.

I've met some of the coolest people ever through the shroomery, and hope to meet even more!
First off, for everyone telling me to spend more time with my girlfriend, I will. I promise.
Secondly, that was a great response Liz. The same goes for you MOTH. I appreciate you ladies having my back.

I've considered that but it might be tough convincing her that there's more to it than just mushrooms. I'll give it a shot though.
