the kybalion

ive had this book for nearly 15 years, always keep it handy and read bits and pieces from it. on the cover it says it was written by "three initiates".
but 2 weeks ago i discovered the identities of 2 of the 3. they turned out to be my 2 favorite writers, whose books i have also spent many years studying and whose knowledge and motivations i have total respect for.
so i reread the kybalion with a special joy, it kind of tied a lot of things together for me.

in the book, they discuss the 7 hermetic principles -

1- THE ALL is MIND; the universe is mental

2- as above, so below; as below, so above

3- nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.

4- everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.

5- everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.

6- every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; everything happens according to law; chance is but a name for law not recognised; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law.

7- gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles; gender manifests on all planes.

the third remains unknown
others were p.f.case and w.w.atkinson.
mr atkinson also wrote a series of books with baba barata and published them under the name of yogi ramacharaka.

The Emerald Tablet (Tabula Smaragdina)

Very interesting that Yogi Ramacharaca, is one of them, also I will add that the Bhagavad-Gita, is another jewel of wisdom.
My two favorites books
Another writer that you may be interested if you can get a translated book, is Dr Jorge Adumm

It is not about magic ore spells, is about changing and inferior state of consciousness into a higher one.

It sounds remarkably similar to the Tao Te Ching.
I don't know how literal the masculine and feminine idea is to be taken.
Lao tzu taught that everything arises from two polar energies: yin and yang. This is probably the same concept.

Oh, dear me! Looks like Swamster now thinks he is a high-flying bird. If before he was only battling the factuality of "paranormal phenomena" he is now trying to discredit spiritual search per se. I suppose if I ask "How has science enhanced your life" you'll say "It has given me TV, Sport Utility Cars and super-thin condoms". How convenient.

Wait, Now I get it. The 3800 people who died in the WTC bombing all made that happen, so the terrorists weren't really at fault because we all create our own reality. (See #1 of the Hermetic Priniciples).

If you two would learn to open your minds even 1/10000000, you may learn something, or maybe not. actually odds are when you get together with a bunch of people no one learns anything, that's the whole point of talking to one another, to completely discard anothers view, make him feel like shit, and take pride in that fact. Oh yes you will argue where is the tangible proof, the idea's represented to you will lead you as close as you may come for if you knew everything what would be the point of the afterlife, right. Then you will say, i have already opened my mind and recieved nothing, then i say to you you are not doing it the right way since other people are getting the messages and you are not, mybe if you actually took it easy on the complete slander of anothers views you may just get to understand a bit more, and if thats all, fine, because by listening to anothers views with an open mind you are acting in good conscience and you will be surprised how much better you will feel about yourself, just think about it.

Effect: Planes explode, buildings implode, ~2800 people die.

I cannot make anyone feel anything. Your reaction to some black dots on a screen is yours alone. If I said the sky is green, would you get mad? I doubt it. So if I speak some other untruth, why would you choose to feel poorly? People only feel bad because they have doubts and they get angry at me for showing the flaw in their thinking.

Completely wrong. I have been both a student and a teacher during many periods of my adult life.

Huh? There is no evidence for an afterlife nor a point to to it.

And what messages are those? That we are alien puppets? That we can move objects with our minds, but not when anyone is looking? That we create our own reality even though we have very little control over our lives?

Yeah, old Sai did some good (but obvious to a trained eye) parlor tricks. All those years and I came up empty-handed. Everyone is trying to find a handle; something to hold onto. I was open to the mysterious, but not too naive. Now I end up here a cynic still hoping for a miracle before my time runs out.
