Is my casing OK? First Timer

I used 50/50 potting mix/vermiculite for the bottom layer, which is about an inch think. I crumbled the colonized cakes over this mixture - turned out a little under an inch thick. I then layed another inch of straight potting soil over the top. I moistened this so it was somewhat damp, but not "wet". The potting soil used in the top and bottom layer is "shrub & pot" potting soil and I noticed it had a fair bit of bark, twigs etc. in it. I sterilized the potting soil and the 50/50 mix in the microwave.
As far as sterility goes, I crumbled the cakes with my gloved hand, which was just washed with plain soap. All the containers etc. were sterilized in the microwave after being washed with soap, but I didn't go too nuts with the sterility of everything.
The casing containers are plain plastic boxes with snap on lids. I put the lids on them all (air-tight) and have stuck them the fridge for a few hours for a mild cold-shock.
I guess now I just moisten it every so-often, then wait for mycelium to show through the top layer, then I take the lids off, airing them out and wait for mushrooms to grow?
Thanks for your help/advice

Just my opinion but:
1) soil, bark, twigs, ect.(dirt) is for growing pot, not mushrooms
2) the thickness of the top layer is determined by the thickness
of the substrate. The substrate should be four times as thick as the top layer.
3)go nuts with sterality!
4)cold shocking helps to induce pinning(after the mycelia recovers
and starts to show up on top.)
5) if it's airtight, it will probably all be dead soon.
6)smell it once in a while, when it starts to smell like a rotten apple, throw
it out.
Or maybe it will work and kick out a shitload of mushrooms.
Good luck

I'm going off this casing tek at http://www.mycofanatic.com/teks/cmethod.htm . It specifies that the containers should be airtight. I've lossened them in any case so that it's getting a little air. I realised I f'ed up by putting them in the fridge, I took them out about 2 hours later.
Will the potting soil I've used ruin my casing?
