maybe somebody with more knowledge than I could help me out?
i am building a cabinet for growth what would be the best wood to use? plywood lined with something to resist moisture? or is there something made for this purpose??(waterproof or resistant?) throw some ideas my way plz!

You could use plastic, I'm sure you can get it in sheets at Home Depot. or somewhere similar. Then just build an infrastructure out of wood or something to support it, and seal the edges with one of those rubber-glues or hot glue or something. Also, plastic is easy to cut holes in so you could add a small exhaust fan to the bottom very easly. Humidifier would also be easy to connect.

Or were you trying to build some sort of stealthy cabinet?

You could use a cabinet made out of wood.
But I would coat the inside with a mold resistant paint.
Boat paints are good.....they also have good bathroom paints that are mold proof.
