deep scratching
    #614886 - 04/21/02 04:56 PM (21 years, 7 months ago)

is deep scratching mixing up the surface layer of a casing in preparation for the next flush?
is it bad to add more casing layer to a harvested casing in prep for the next flush?

Deep scratching can be done before a casing layer is fully colonized (to speed up colonization)
Doing it inbetween flushes would probably get you a more even pinset, as for adding more casing material, It could more likely be a vector for contamination
If it were being adding for ph balancing, a ph buffer alone could be mixed in.
