I again forgot my camera today but i found a bunch of amanitas in some pines. This time i picked them and brought them home for pictures. I seperated the stems and caps so i could fit more in my paper bag that i brought along.
heres a pic of the caps
a blurry pic of the base of the stems, but can see the rings around the base:
a clearer shot of one of the stem bases

Are those amanita muscaria var. formosa? Don't look too much like the ones I've found. I'm not very experience hunting any type of Amanita tho..

Nice! Why did you remove the warts on the cap?

they were very dirty caps covered in dirt and pine needles i was very gentle wiping them off but a lot of the warts did come off. there are a lot more warts left than the picture suggests though. Some of the warts came off while pulling through the pine needles covering them on the ground too. I try to keep the warts intact as much as possible, does this affect the potency? They are in the oven drying, I may or may not use them, I tried some earlier this week from another patch and had a very profound experience, but not what i was expecting. I still was fond of it, but like cubes not something to do on a regular basis. If anything i'll more then likely make tea and do some yoga or tai chi for meditation.
As for silverwolf, whatever, I know better than to listen to anything he says regarding mushrooms, if someone else wants to listen to him whatever, but I ignore him for the most part. I left at least 10 times what i brought home, plenty left to sporulate throughout the woods.

I also found a few boletes, which i didn't grab, but plan on going back tomorrow to try and properly ID. I have yet to try and ID any boletes, so any tips would be cool. Found one shaggy mane too but it was turning black around the bottom already and there were no more around. There were thousands, upon thousands of random lactarius and russulas as well.
