Pink Floyd struck a chord with me when I was younger as well. I was watching T.V and a comercial came on for the local classic rock radio station. They were showing videos of the bands and I saw the one little snippit of the hammers walking and instantly knew I wanted to hear more from this band.

the firs time I heard A Momentary Lapse of Reason was tripping at my friend's house ... the first 3 songs blew my mind (especially Dogs of War) ...

however, I never caught on with the rest of the cd, I didn't enjoy it that much.

I also tend to enjoy the earlier albums a LOT more (ie: Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Syd Barrett is unbelievable to trip to; Meddle and Ummagumma, for being so experimental; Darkside of the Moon, for utter brilliance, etc) i felt Momentary Lapse of Reason was missing some of the epic sound of the early Floyd ... anyways, that's just me.

Its a mediocre album for a Floyd album. The whole feel of it just lacks something. I like divisonbell better, for a post-waters album. Still, its not bad. Sorrow and Turning away are cool songs.

When is gilmour going to record again, btw? Man, its been too long.

I have an awesome trip story about this cd. The last time my friends and i dosed, we ate about a quarter of cubensis each. after about 3 hours we decided it was time to come in from playing outside and relax with some music. Earlier, we had rigged up two stereos in our trip room, and we put Momemtary Lapse of Reason in both stereos, and started them a second or two apart. this was the most amazing experience of my life. i have never been tripping so pure before. the music was just rippling infront of us in huge waves, and the echoes of the 2 cds playing was amazing. none of us moved or talked the entire time this played out. afterwards, we all said that this was the most wonderful tripping experience we had ever had. i was just wondering, on a side note, has anyone else here tried listening to their music with more than one copy echoing? it will be a staple of all of our intense trips from now on.

man, idiot, i like the way you word things. i would defenitely say we
'tripped hard with" MLOR that nite on two stereos. and do try it out next time you trip, you will be blown away. we're going to try it with three stereos and either "dark side" or "wish you were here" echoing each other. its gonna be great. never been so focused on tripping in my life, was completely absorbed and enraptured by the music.

sorrow is a good tune

wish you were here is a great album,
but Animals is my all-time favorite album... the record is just a trip by itself..
