cat droppings

It's been alittle longer than two weeks since i inoculated my first jars"four, koh-samui strain in brf-verm half pint jars". No jars show any sign of contamination. So i decided to disect a jar to see if anything was going on in the belly of the beast. Well after ploping it out i found something that resembles the presents cats leave in litter boxes only instead of being a creamy chocolate center was a white spongy "mold". im not sure whether its mycilum or another mold. I did inject my spores into the center of my jar aposed to the sides of the jars. The cake didnt have an unpleasent odor just a rice and a sort of musty smell but not strong, also the cake crumbled apart except for the center which held together. Is this normal or is there something wrong happening? any help will be greatly appreaciated

hello. i am of no expert, but i would assume(ass out of u and me)that its fine. is the rest of the kake nice and white? since thats where you inoculated, then maybe it turned hard like that cuz its the "foundation", the "root" know where i'm getting at? sorry i am not really making sense. new at this stuff.
