Deadly Mushrooms or...not so deadly mushrooms
    #613677 - 04/20/02 11:20 AM (16 years, 5 months ago)

I have several cakes that have displayed a certain yellowing in several places. When placed in the terrarium the yellow did not show any sign of spreading. Successful fruiting, but now, right before harvest a purplish/greensih color has appeared on one cake and several mushrooms on the other cakes have a greenish tint at their base. Around the caps is a blackish ring (not necessarily around the circumference) that easily scraps off.
Anybody have any ideas what this is...are they safe to consume?

Thanks

yellow is waste from the mushrooms. the purple/green is either bruising or spores. the black ring is the torn veil. everything sounds normal!

post pics if you're worried about the green.

Shit I just threw a jar of PR's out cause I thought the yellowing was contamination.
It was an old spore germ about a month.
