Just thought that I'd share a scene from my favorite movie.
    #6125590 - 10/02/06 06:47 PM (17 years, 4 months ago)

I don't know how to embed it so I just linked to it.

Blue Velvet

I know some people here have seen this movie, but for those that haven't, you really should. This particular scene is one of the most disturbing scenes in movie history.

I don't like being disturbed, my psyche is sensitive.

I've seen the movie, a few years ago. I have a copy on VHS. First saw it while on psychedelics too, which made it have a stronger impact.

Haha, I certainly would advise against being on psychedelics while watching this movie, especially the first veiwing of the movie.

Yeah lol, I didn't know what I was getting into though. it actually didn't bother me. Made the movie seem more real and helped keep my attention though!

It's just a scene from the movie, but basically that character that Dennis Hopper plays is like that in the whole movie. He's not really supposed to make sense. He's insane and on drugs.

I found his original movie Eraserhead more disturbing. Still a good movie though

Eraserhead is definately a weird film, but not really disturbing to me. I think that Frank Booth in Blue Velvet is the most despicable villain in any movie that I've ever seen. He's very comedic too.

There is a very good academic essay by a person called Sam Ishi-
Gonzalez on this movie.

Called: Freud's wolfman and Lynch's Blue Velvet. Might interest you if you like the movie.

I didnt like it all that much, it fucked my head up trying to work out the shit about the ear. If there is anything to work out at all... etc.  :mad2:

Have you seen Lynch's short film "The Grandmother?" It's only 30mins long, but I think it's my favorite thing that he's done. You should be able to find it on the internet pretty easily. Either that or just check out the Short Films of David Lynch. I just recently saw Wild At Heart and I loved that also. I bought it immediately after watching it.

Yeah, I've seen the Short Films of David Lynch. He's very talented, just a little bit eccentric as well.

Wild At Heart is pretty good. I like looking at Laura Dern's tits in that movie. I'm axiouslt awaiting the release of his new movie, Inland Empire.

Sorry i got given it as a handout companion to the study of the movie, ive only got it in paper.

I'll try to find it and if i can, do some scanning and post it here.

Otherwise, just look out for it i guess or read it out of an anthology in a bookshop where they do coffee as well. Christ i sound gay.

Seriously though, i'll have a look. Its about the only academic essay ive ever enjoyed. She needs to write one about Mulholland Drive. I think she's a she.
