poor professor
    #6121397 - 10/01/06 02:13 PM (17 years, 3 months ago)

This professor at Florida University is losing his job over this video. I understand that it's "irresponsible" to go to a class high, but I don't think he should lose his job over it. I mean, if he was capable of getting his point across and in an interesting manner at that, then who gives a fuck?

The main page of collegehumor has a mini-article on his getting canned, and is encouraging people to lend the guy their support.

Yeah, hard to say. Plus, it is probably a history class, not management.

How do we know he was high while doing this? I mean, it may appear so, but I think most have a had a loopy professor or two.

anyway, he has a duty to represent the school and it's ideals. Teaching a class while high is simply irresponsible and quite frankly, dumb. A person in his position should know better. If you can't abstain from drugs while on the clock, you should be fired.

People pay good money to go to college and university so they they can learn what they need to in order to have a successful job.

You aren't going to learn what you need to learn from some blithering idiot that can't keep clear thought in his head.

That sucks. I think that if a professor can interact in an activity as studetns who do as well, he/she can relate to the student's life in learning and remember what it was like when he was back in college.

Good article catch.

I can say with 100% certainty that I would learn more from a guy who is really getting into the subject and making it entertaining, even if some of his references or analogies are loopy or far-fetched, as compared to a teacher who presents all the facts by the book in a monotonous outline format. Maybe it's just me and my ADD, but I don't learn shit unless I'm at least partially interested.

Honestly I'd like to see the entire class. I'd like to see if his points were valid, if he was getting the message across, if the class actually taught something. If this were the case, then who the fuck cares if he's high? There are prescription pills for everything these days with which people are constantly altering their thought patterns and personalities. You all know as well as I do the medicinal uses for marijuana, perhaps he was just self-medicating for anxiety or something like that. Regardless, if he could do his job well and he knew he could do his job well, then let the man alone.

I watched only part of that video, but it's pretty obvious that he's extremely far gone.
