how about political betting?

we should place no monetary bets (due to illegality (word?) on whether or not the democrats will take back the house, senate and executive branch.
As well as take side bets on who will be the next majority whip and speaker.
Im willing to bet a year of my signature, to be filled in with whatever the taker of this bet wishes, that the democrats become the house majority.
edit: by 2008 of course....

Democrats will take the house by a decent margin, the senate will be so close it will be 1-5 either way. Who ever takes it will win by a very slim margin and john mccain will be the next pres.
Just my lil prediction, I dont even want anything if i win because i still loose.

One can only dream. McCain has serious issues with conservatives. Four things he has done that have pissed them off: 1. Gang of 14 nonsense over Supreme Court nominees 2. Opposes effective immigration reform 3. A little too willing to give certain rights to illegal combatants 4. McCain Feingold was a monumental piece of stupidity
There are others. He still has a lot of support in the "nominate somebody who can win no matter what his stance" crowd. And a lot of money. Giuliani has problems too, most notably his socially liberal ideas. I have no problem with his stance but many Republicans do.
Bet here is Mitt Romney. A genuine conservative who has shown an ability to win in a blue state. George Allen would also have been strong but he has allowed the door to open for some incredibly scurrilous allegations with his "macaca" remark, whatever the fuck that was supposed to mean. Dumb mistake.
You can bet on politics all you want: http://www.tradesports.com/aav2/menu.jsp
Enjoy.

I would put my money on Hillary Clinton if anything. I wont vote for her, but she has every single gay vote, except the log cabin republicans of course, Im betting that oprah winfrey will unofficially endorse her as well as make a big push for women to vote, which will cause this election to have the largest female voter turn out in history, as well as she will have a large percentage of people voting the party line when she gets the democratic nomination, and another amount of people who have been so alienated by the republican party that it doesnt matter who the democratic nominee is, they will vote just to keep another republican out of office.

You've been doing too much avatar. Hilary Clinton is one of the most despised figures in politics, her husband is a huge downer for her and people will vote for any Republican just to keep Dems out of power. Me, for instance

I used to listen to 1040 radio so I could hear some really amazing, and out there weirdos on Coast to Coast with Art Bell, but one day I turned it on a little too early and there was the Micheal Reagan show. Now I listen to that show constantly when I need to get my "crazy beyond all belief, lead by some agenda toting douchebag" fix.
If you could stop taking shows like that seriously, maybe your post would have some weight... but apparently your fingers are very far from the pulse of america. While Fox news and the right wing rhetoric robots have spent countless hours trying to character assassinate anything associated with Clinton, they really have nothing to grab onto and are left with merely slandering the woman so crack pots like you are conditioned to retort with useless crap (see your post).
how about facing reality, because very soon there will be another clinton in office.
The homosexual community has one of the best percentages of voter turn out, not to mention the enormous amount of political contributions they can give seeing as most of them have no children to dump money on. The only people left in the republicans pockets are fanatical christians and military personnel. They had the mexicans, but the democrats forced them to show their ass on that and they have alienated (pun intended) the mexicans.
I think this year you will see an overwhelming majority of young voter turnout as well. One of the only good things Bush has done this term is piss off a debilitatingly politically lazy group of people to the point where they can put the playstation 2 on hold to register and vote.
No amount of gerrymandering, mud slinging, swift boat veterans commercials, Fox slanting is going to keep this government in the wrong.... i mean the right.
I think the only thing the republicans still have left is the war... they have screwed over environmentalist, pro-choice (most women), the poor, the middle class, all republicans excluding neo-cons.... the list goes on.
Look, even my father, who has been one of the most staunch republicans I have ever known.... this man has listened to limbaugh everyday since he came on the air, watches fox news the second he wakes up, and at one point attempted to hit me because I was laughing at Limbaughs drug addiction.... the other day I was joking with him and I said "Yeah, since I bought a house I guess I have to vote republican now and hope the negro's dont move into the neighborhood".... and the man said "nah, you dont need to be republican, just have a conservative stance".
If GWB can alienate my father from the republican party... then I am willing to bet a car that a democrat will win the next presidential election*
*= granted we have one.

I've never heard Michael Reagan. Ever.
Homosexuals have always been overwhelmingly Democrat
Mexicans (I assume you mean Hispanic) never went to the Republicans, they always voted Demo.
Yeah sure, the youth vote. Been hearing that liberal fantasy for decades. I'll start worrying about that when it actually rears it's pointed little head
Hilary Clinton is my Senator and I know her to be outrageously despicable. I've had 14 years of this cunt in my face to observe her and find her to be the worst sort of closet liberal opportunist. She is also extremely unlikable and has no chance.
When your father goes in to the voting booth do you really think he'll pull the lever for a liberal? Conservative dissatisfaction with Bush (who, by the way will NOT be on the ballot in '08) stems from the fact that he has not been conservative enough. These people will never pull a lever for a Dem and if Hilary is the nominee they will flock at the booth to avert that horror. Hilary will absolutely galvanize Republicans and conservatives to once again keep hope alive.
And you now have an outlet to bet that car. Have fun.

Biden has been out there stomping Bush as much as anyone so he certainly gets his moonbat bona fides but he will have real trouble when he finally sticks his dick into the fray. He is not squeeky clean and is considered an extreme lib. Tough to win with that.

The last exit polls for the 2004 election showed the Bush grabbing over 40% of the Hispanic votes. If Democrats could reduce this down to the levels of the previous decades, that would be a huge win.

And, further, does it matter. Cali, no. Florida, Cubans = Republicans. Texas, no. Arizona, no. New Mexico, maybe. New York, no.
