A 10 year old girl has died after eating Amanita bisporigera. The mushrooms were picked on September 9. 4 others were also poisoned and hospitalized. The others have all been released from the hospital.
Just a reminder - eating the wrong mushrooms can be fatal.

Wow... that sux... I spent the summer of 2005 working at a camp as a nature instructor... in my free time I would search out all the different strains i could find... I would identify them using my knowledge and 3 field guides... I found Fly agaric (north american variety of course). but th guide said that the north american variety induces madness and raving... not so much of a trip as its eastern asian counterpart... for more info on "Fly Argaric" http://peyote.com/jonstef/flyagaric.htm
I found an important mushroom amongst the some 40 different mushrooms I sampled... It is called the "sickener" which if my research was correct (the field guides) it is so acrid (Acidic) that when swallowed it within minutes makes you vomit the contents of your stomach... If anyone else has more info on the sickener and/or know that my research is correct/incorrect about the sickener... please let me know...

this happened last week up here, aparently they ate some kind of amanita while looking for edible mushrooms up here. I dunno though, maybe they just wanted to trip on amanita muscaria and picked the wrong kind
