Snakes on a Plane, Brick, House of Flying Daggers and V for Vendetta come to mind.

Whatever you do, avoid seeing "Crash". This was the single shittiest, most overrated piece of dog nut to ever be released. I can sum this movie up for you right here:

"Hey whitey, you should feel guilty.
Yea, you too negro.
Oh shit, we be fogettin ah brown brothas. Them niggas need the guilt too fo shizzle.
The world is a fucked up racist place."

That's it, no bullshit. The only people that could find this movie good are those secluded from other races. Those that never deal with normal life.

Well, I guess that's good for me to know that I've been living a lie for the past 22 years.

I like the premise of the story, the idea that such tragic things happened and that, in the big scheme of life, it didn't matter one bit. I mean, yea, the story is like "ok, we get it, people discriminate, can we move on now?", but there's more to it than just that. It's raw human emotion and what people can do when they are hurt or angry, it's not just the racial issue.

But regardless, I know others whom didn't like the movie as well, and I'm sure that I'd hate some of the movies you enjoy.

That's like saying the grounds crew was real good at a baseball game. Who gives a fuck? The movie sucked balls.

That's just my opinion. No offense intended.

Well, the difference is that at a baseball game, people tend to only go for, well...the baseball game. People don't JUST see movies for the plot.

On a certain level, I agree. While there are some that go to a game to score it, or just for the atmosphere or food, most go to see their team win.
Likewise, most people that go to see a movie are there to be entertained through the quality acting out of a good plot. Sure there are those that want to see good lighting or editing, but they are the exception to the rule. As such, they do not count.

I mean, Titanic DID win an AA for best picture, so it obviously doesn't matter what anyone else thinks: some movies are just shit no matter what. Haha.

I take no offense... when I watch a film, I like to take in and evaluate all the technical aspects (like editing, lighting, and cinematography) that are all a part of the final outcome.

I'm really not a fan of Borat, nor Ali G in general. My parents love him though. *Shrugs* I just missed the boat on that one.

Oh is this about best dvd release, Or about best movie of the year. My bad.. the title of the thread is miss leading then.

Movies that come out during the year are usually released on dvd moths after its box office open.. so a lot of the better movies this year will not be out till next year.

And I happened to like the Matador.
