fuck microsoft and their automatic updates!
Now I get this message that my windows version isn't legit... anyone know how I can resolve this problem?

Happened to me too. Just call up the number and they will give you a website so that you can run a diagnostic test.

I'm not sure if it works though, as I've been too lazy to actually do it. I'm fine waiting the extra 5 seconds to start my computer.

you can restore your computer and refuse that update. Don't know if thats the best way but thats what I ended up doing.

yeah, i actually caught that update trying to sneak through my computers firewall, bastard. even thogh i run a legit version of wondiws i denied it.

Hrm, so...I ran the diagnostic (I got un-lazy) and it STILL said that my version of Windows (which came with my computer which I bought straight from Dell brand new) is not legit, and the Security office is only open from 5am-9pm = I'm screwed for now.

Oh well, who needs Genuine Microsoft Software anyway?

I used
START: Assecoires>system tools>system restore
and restored my system to the last update, yesterday, and now everything is working fine again :laugh:

ofcoarse I turned automatic updates off from now on! :mad:

Many computer savvy users tend to keep system restore turned off.

In an infected computer, viruses/worms/trojans are known to use system restore to recover from the user's attempts to eliminate them.

Well, I'm at work for 10 hours a day (sometimes more, as I have two jobs). Plus it was 11pm when I posted, so the office was already closed.

I just tried calling them, and as I'm not at home with my home computer there wasn't anything they could do to help me.

lawl get a better corp. iso to install windows with. The one I use I never had any problems with.

i just use win2k.. i like it better than XP... but some software is bieng stupid now, like illustrator CS... but i dont use that program anyhow...

this is the only thing i have found talking about it being a IE flaw or some shit. i guess rollback and install firefox.
