Will this kill or damage the mycelium?

The pink elephant has 20 jars that are colonized. Some have completely colonized, some have stalled (the stalled ones likely had too much water in them, however, they still have some mycelial growth and none are contaminated). Can these be taken out, all crumbled together, and then placed in one large container? I think this would help get all the substrate colonized faster, but it would increase the risk of contamination. If it does work, can the colonized substrate later be broken up again to make multiple casings? Would the mycelium live through this process? The pink elephant wants to do this because he is VERY limited on time for this batch.

Let other colonize you can use what you have and the ones that are behind can be used later.

I wish I could do that, but there's no time to wait on them. The time frame here is 3 weeks. If the pink elephant waits, then he'll end up with casings that won't have time to even pin. What I'm asking, is will the mycelium live through being crumpled 2 times. That's my question, I need a relevant answer.

First off do you have tape on the jar holes?I did that once and it took 4 months to colonize and they never fruited. If you do take it off in a clean environment and cover the jar with foil. If you do not have tape over the holes then it is propably the moisture and taking only the colonized area out is not such a bad Idea. Do this In a clean bowl with a fork put it in another bowl over moist sterile vermiculite cover with suran wrap and case with coco coir or whatever 2 or 3 days later. Hope that helps...

If you are very clean about it (I mean sterile) you can crumple all you want. I use bird seed so that I can shake the jars about three times durring colonization to spread the mycellium throughout the birdseed.

Sometimes when there is a small ammount of uncolonized substrate left in the jar, I would ignore it and just crumble it up anyway. This had not lead to any problems. The ammount left was like ranging from 1 cm to 3 cm. Im guessing that it wouldn't even be a problem if you have a good ammount of colonized substrate and other sterile factors.

There is a chance of bacterial infection.. sometimes, especially depending on what substrate you used, a bacterial infection will be the cause of a stall. you do not mention substrate, preperation, etc.. so it is very hard to judge. also, how is the advanced? if these are MMGG or PF style (brf+verm) then you would have been better served with posting this in standard cult.
