Hello all...

My neighbors llama has some Ecuadors cased 50/50. Pins showed about 3 days ago, and seem to be growing VERY slowly... temp fluctuates from 75-80 and the RH from about 77-82. The substrate is pulling away from the sides a bit, and I have been misting. Should I fill the area where it has pulled away with fresh 50/50?

Any ideas are appreciated!

i would trickle some water in the pan/container at the sides THEN fill with new sterilized casing mixture. the mycelium will recieve moisture by a wicking action. the amount of moisture in your casing is what affects your developing fruitbodies. but if you mist excessively you will abhort the pins that have begun to develop. only add moisture to your container if you have a bottom casing layer. for those who have a substrate on the bottom layer you wil only drown the mycelium that sits in the standing water.
