Okay, my new 6 megapixwl camera so far sucks a little until i learn beter how to use it with the tripod. the slightest jerk when hitting the shutter blurs every image I took with it. At least a majoprity of them.
Ffrom WEst Seattle to North I found some cyans, some blue ringers (P. stuntzii) and a small crop of a bluing mycena, which I damaged bringing them home. they are a frail species and break very easily inones back pack in paper towels.
So those were damaged beyond repair. Will try to salvae a few cap segments for possible culture work .
mj
enjoy the discoveries.
I am ready when ever you all are.
The Cyans
And here are three images of some blue ringers two days ago when the rain was drizzling.
and a bluing Mycena
mj more later maybe

Very nice find man. Glad to see some cyans popping up on the forums. I have yet to find a cyan yet this season but in due time.

you guys see!!!! i knew they were out there!
i checked on my dependable patch early this morning and i found many new cyan pins. its not supposed to rain for some days now and the temps are still a little on the warmer side, so i took a bottle of water with me and watered the pins down nicely and put just a little bit more bark and good amount of leaves over them(with some head space), in hopes that other shroom hunters wont spot them. i hope they fruit soon
btw mj, awesome cyan pics!! seeing the first cyan pics of the season puts an ear to ear grin on my face! keep it up

Nice finds, good to see some cyans are being found, even though it's only a couple of thousands of miles away from here

I recommend you to buy either a remote control (infrared or other wireless tech) or a cable release for your camera. Either should be available on most modern cameras. Working with a tripod but without some sort of remote shutter release is very frustrating in my experience.

Yeah, it's not surprising that there are a few patches up but I think this next string of 70s and sunny weather is going to put a hault to things. If ya did find pins, I recommend watering for sure!

Nice MJ. Looks like you've already got some great patches scoped out.
Congrats on the first finds of the season.
ps. You may want to play around with "manual focus" on your camera. In a few of the photos, your camera locked on to the background rather than the shrooms.

Nice finds John. I checked some of my dependable patches yesterday, but none have fruits yet. I'm sure it's just a matter of time. RR

Thanks rodger, maybe we can scope a field of pelliculosas out on the Kiongston side form the air.
AS for finding a few, I thing @cro already posted some prior to me at another site.
Byut we probably were both out onthe same days.
Still too warm all around and just a few freak sprinkler system patches are popping up. The mycenas were toataly rotten when IO got them home and to smashed to save for examination. Now I willcarry a small teabox or prezil stick box to put in a few small specimens for stuy.

A Panasonic Lumix FZ7-6 megapixel. IT will also make a 1 hour and forty minute movie on a two gigabyte memoery card,
But even still iamges in the simple mode I have had blurred images. My broken-partially-broken nikon 4300 cool-pix takes better close ups.
Anyway, ans then I still have about 7 cameras which take film. Might sell them someday, 2 good Nikons, an EM and an FM.
