Mushroom Mayhem in Pennsylvania

It's been awhile since I've been able to get out and about to search for some beauties, but yesterday I finally got that opportunity! I couldn't wait to show you all! (Nobody else in my friend/family circle seems to care much! Haha!)
I don't know how things are going in other parts of the country, but here in central Pennsylvania, mushrooms are literally bursting from ever lawn in the neighborhood, including my own! After seeing some amanitas popping up in the backyard, I took a short hike into the woodlot behind my house to find an array of mushrooms, most of which I haven't seen before! We've been getting tons of rainy weather, and the air temps have been relatively cool. I've yet to find any Shaggy Manes (which are my goal), but I was so pleased by my finds yesterday that I needed a change of underwear by the end of the trip!
First we have what appears to be Golden Scruffy Collybia. Whatever it is, it was simply BEAUTIFUL against the changing leaves. It was growing straight from the soft spongy wood of a log, and I noted that there were small buttons sprouting for more pictures later! (Weather is STILL rainy!)

Not too far away were a few more beauties. Visually, I was thinking Larch-bog Waxy Cap, but with a tight schedule, I didn't have time to collect for proper identify. Gills ran down the stem a bit, in a fashion similar to the Jack O' Lantern. Stem was relatively thick and white, gills were white, and caps were very slick.

Close examination of the forest floor revealed a ghostly mushroom, with a long thin stem that faded into the leaf litter. I only found a specimen or two of this kind, but it was worthy of a picture!

Ahhh...well if it isn't Rickenella fibula! Growing from some moss on a slope, I nearly crushed these little guys with my shoes!

Near the forest edge I noticed some sort of chanterelles growing. They're actually a lot bigger than the little golden ones I found in August, but I wasn't sure of their edibility.

Boletes!!

Amanitas!

Corals!

Just when I thought things couldn't get any more interesting, I found a purple mushroom! I'm planning on collecting some specimens of these in a bit to gather spore print, and additional info for a proper ID, so stay tuned for that.

Also, a white polypore that I photographed last month has since grown into a more beautiful version of itself, having finally matured.

Among the polypores were other gelly-like cuppish mushrooms.

All in all, shroomin' has been great. I've been finding a ton of meadow mushrooms, and giant puffballs. The puffballs I've found thus far were far too mature for consumption...well...unless you don't mind eating centipedes!
I hope you all enjoy the pics. I'm off for some more mushroom snoopin before work!

Your purple ones are Cortinarius (the cortina is very visible in the second photo). As to species, if you figure it out, let us know. The Cortinarius that are really tough to ID are the Telamonias.
Great photos, BTW.
Happy mushrooming!

I believe those purple mushrooms to be "Spotted Cort", Cortinarius iodes. It's the only purple/spotted member of the family I've been able to find, and the seasons, locations, and habitat all match up.

One thing is for sure, they sure are nice to look at.

I found 3 types of purple mushrooms today. Corts were one of the types. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/6070431#Post6070431
If you touch one of those Boletes, does it leave a sticky substance on your hand or feel slimy? Kind of looks like a Suillus. I see them in those types of areas sometimes.
Nice finds and pics

I looked at a larger version of my own pic from this hunt, and I didn't realized how well this one turned out!

That's what I was thinking. I need to set up a new spot to do my spore prints/IDing. I got two new kittens, and I'm afraid to bring mushrooms around for fear they'll eat one and die!
Pennsylvania is having a good season.

Cortinarius iodes, I think the stems are too thick to be the them. I had ID'd a few of these a few weeks ago, and read that the stems of Cortinarius iodes were very thin as well as the base being a large bulb.

Hopefully I'll have luck finding some tommorow here in Western PA. Anyone else from West PA?
