Amanita muscaria question...

I found a flush of what would best be described as Amanita muscaria var. alba under a pine tree in the local city park (WV). They looked almost exactly like a "formosa" I found (and subsequently sampled to my delight) except white in color (not matching any of the characteristics of its cousin the "death angel")
MY QUESTION IS THIS: are the hallucinogenic properties of the 2 varieties similar?
any help would be appreciated.

A. muscaria, var. alba is very difficult to distinguish from some of it's potentially deadly look-a-likes. There are dozens of white amanitas that are poisonous. Some of them have veil remnants very similar A. muscaria, and some of them have not even been cataloged and named yet.
If you must dabble with Amanitas, stick with the red orange and yellow varieties. The white ones are too difficult to differentiate from their deadly look-a-likes. Just because your white Amanita is not a destroying angle doesn't automatically make it muscaria var alba.
Be careful bro.
