I'm constructing a tomb in the woods on a hillside. It will be for growing shrooms and various other activities.Imagine having an underground tomb at your disposal. First I dig a 6x6x6 hole going in at the base of the hill.I line the hole with landscaping fabric.Huge chunks of concrete are already conveniently located at the construction site (somebody dumped them there).they are about 4 to 5 feet in diameter triangular broken pieces.I strategically place the chunks around the inside of the hole so as to make a wall. Then with the help of a few friends I lift the larger of the chunks to place them on top of the side pieces to span across the hole making the ceiling. Some large ceramic piping that was also dumped at the site will be the entrance ("rabbit hole").A pipe will be set in place on top to serve as a venting chimney. After everything is properly covered with fabric(to keep soil from washing into the tomb)I will cover it in dirt to again match the slope of the hill. The tomb will be totally concealed and the entrance covered by a large boulder or something. In the summer I hope to grow mushrooms inside the tomb.In the winter I will put a small furnace inside or in construction i will make a concave portion in the wall with the chimney running from the top toserve as a fireplace so i can have little fires in there to keep warm just for a place to chill, trip, or meditate.I think it will be a perfect place to do Salvia Divinorum.

Just make sure you properly support the concrete. I'd hate to hear that you're having a good time then a 100 pound slab of concrete falls on you!
Since your room is only 6 X 6 X 6 you may want to consider using wood railroad ties. They usually sell them at Home Depot or landscaping supply places. They're very heavy, but you can get a 7" X 9" X 10' tie for about $10.
If you could rent a backhoe for the day, you could make it 3x's as large!!!
Good luck, and post some pics when you're done!

I wonder why somebody dumped the concrete? I wonder if it is reenforced? I wonder if it was a proper mix? The image of a bug meeting a windshield comes to mind.

In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption" "People do it every day, they talk to themselves ... they see themselves as they'd like to be, they don't have the courage you have, to just run with it."

for some reason, the image of someone a couple hundred years, from now finding your decaying bones, wondering, how did this guy get trapped here, comes to mind.

yeah dood, that is alot of physical work, id do it right.
there are cheap materials you can buy to make sure the job is done a little more safe.
I would start from the top, build down, and then only cover with as much as is needed to hide it. You do not want too much earth above you, and make sure it is supported really well.
Give some more details on how you want to do t his, and im sure everyone can share some cheap and effective ways to properly engineer and construct it. maybe some pics.

Oh, and dont even fuck with that concrete except for something like the floor. It wont do anything for the walls and roof, except fall on you. That is a bad trip if ive ever heard of one.
A big hole + some scrap wood for forms, some scrap metal for reinforcement + some quick dry cement = a little better.

Yes.I understand the concern. The concrete was from a parking lot or something. They have black top on them on one side. They are very thick and in good condition and when concrete is protected from weather, it lasts a very long time.I'm not that dumb and have good spacial perception. If it doesn't look extremely sturdy to me,I wont go in it.Also I will put a minimal amount of dirt on top for least weight.just enough to make it hidden. If someone steals my shit, well then, lesson learned and it didn't work.I'll do my best.If its an extreme success I'll build more, with other materials.I might just move out of my house and live in the hill with my kids...joking.But all my hobo friends could live in them.

plant some bushes and tall grasses to conceal the path lead up to it and the entrance....
then the chance of someone stumbling upon it are less
good luck and be careful
