I suppose, but you float for totally different reasons.

in water it's because humans are almost completley liquid, so you weigh roughly as much as the water (certainly less if your lungs are full of air), so you float, but in space you float from lack of gravity, or falling sideways in the case of orbit...

However...... we've explored .1% of space?

(That's not exact math btw... I'm probably giving us too much credit....)

We haven't even sent a man to mars.. let alone explored outside of our own solar system.

Allow me to put things into perspective for you..

The Milky Way Galaxy (the one we live in..) contains approximately 200,000 million stars. (By conservative estimates...) We are on one planet of nine, revolving around one of these stars... in the outer reaches of the galaxy.. (we live in the sticks.. nowhere near the galactic center).
The closest star to our solar system, is about 4.6 light years away.

The closest Galaxy to us is Canis Major, only 42,000 light years away. (VERY close in terms of space) The closest major galaxy is Andromeda, about 2.3 million light years away. And like ours, is an average sized galaxy, probably containing around 700 billion to 1.9 trillion stars.

Galaxies are estimated to contain anywhere from 1 billion - 50 trillion stars each. Your average sized galaxy probably contains about 500 billion stars, give or take a few billion.

The closest estimates we have made with our measly telescopes from a limited perspective, is that there are approximately 150 billion galaxies in the visible unverse. 5 years ago it was 70 billion. By these primitive estimates, that's about 50,000 billion billion stars in the known universe. That's 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 x 50,000 stars. If you can comprehend that. Assuming the universe is not infinite.. which it could very well be.

I think it's probably more like 10 to the 27th power number of galaxies. Which is a much, much, much higher number. 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Galaxies.
That's a lot of stars.

And that's just in our universe.

As far we know, there could be millions of billions of universes. Just like there are probably millions of billions of galaxies.

There are far more stars than grains of sand on Earth.

There could be universes revolving around universes. Just as there is galaxies revolving around galaxies. Just as there are planets revolving around stars. Just as there are electrons revolving around the nucleus of an atom. Just as there is millions of atoms in one cell. Just as there are trillions of cells in one human body, and billions of humans. On this one medium sized planet. As above so below.

The odds that intelligent life exists elsewhere, is extremely high.
I would say it's next to impossible for it to NOT exist elsewhere.
And life in the infinite galaxy is probably pretty damn diverse... judging by the diversity of life on this one single planet.
