A nice video, Paul goes through some of the more notable species of psilocybe, which oddly are ones we pretty much never hear about on the shroomery. Mushroom John makes a brief appearance also (RR its definately on the scientific side of things so I deleted and reposted here, kinda weird given that he is at a psychoactivity conference.)

Well he talks on the Stunzii, Stricticeps , baeocystis etc, mainly the Pacific Northwests' species but also Mexicana and others. He has a slide show and kinda gives the background to each species.
Its a good watch, I'd definately reccommend it, lots of little intersting facts and stories thrown in there.
I had no idea TIME magazine effectivly started the mushroom craze -they did a full review including detailed drawings and descriptions for those who might want to find them - and this was in the 60's.
Paul has a funny/cool tradition, before they leave mexico to return to the US they sporeprint all their clothes so they can spread the love.

HI Keeper,
I was the one who informed Paul of the Cyanescens patches growing in the surrounding gardens of the King County Jail house on 5th and Cherry in Seattle. I was caught twice picking there by cameras used to watch the electonic garage door which opens to let cops in and out of the jail house.
Within five months after I was chased way the second time, they put a chicken wired fence around the building on the fifth street side of the street right from the corner to the garage to keep other pickers out.
They also grew on the lawn of the court house opposite the freeway park on Seneca and 7th.
AS for Feelers, Time Magazine did not do the article you are referring to. They did, along with newsweek, announce Albeert Hofmanns synthesis of the chemicals in short articles. I will paste one later today. The artivle you are referring to was the May 13th, 1957 issue of Life Magazine which presented an article by R. Gordon Wasson entitled Mushrooms that Cause Strange Visions. or Seeking the Magic mushrooms. The epithet, 'magic mushrooms' was coined by one of the editiors at Life magazine against the wishes or Dr. Wasson.
I have had this video 1999 Tropen Museum video of paul and others since the conference. It was during this conference that i was robbed in a restaurant in Amsterdam while eating dinner. Two arabs grabbed my back-pack and ran right out the restaurant door past the manager inviting people to come in and eat.
I lost cameras, pasport, money plane tickets and four photo albums of famous shroomerss from Ott, Wasson, Schultes, LaBarre, Guzman, Bigwood, Pollock, Albert Hofmann, John Lilly, John Beresford and others.
All irreplaceable of images of me and them from others shroom attendees of other previous conferences over the years.
The conference was cool. Paul talks similar talks at copnferences in the USA. He just does not do this from Funghi Perfecti. He will also have the phone hung up on anyone who inquires about them on the phone at his company
And If I remember correctly, I think Paul mentioned me at that conference as someone who picked more shrooms than anyone he ever knew.
It was a good lecture.
The audio tapes sold at the conference were another stoy, not very audible.
mj
have a shroomy day.
Later when I figure out how to edit from a vhs to my computer. I too have a lengthy lecture on psilocybian identification and a forum with me, Ott, Gartz and Dennis McKenna. Also will someday get this tape on the web.

Glad you liked the vid, I was the one who uploaded it. I learned a ton from that vid, and still watch it occasionally to pick up more tips. I'm thinking about trying the idea of cloning to cardboard sometime. Anyway, the file is from something called the Most High CD-Rom which has a lot of other quirky media from various drug heroes such as Terrence McKenna and Jack Herer. You can find the torrent here if your interested: http://www.torrentbox.com/torrent_details?id=32675

I would love to see those vids mj. I'm sure there are people around here that could help you out with getting them online if you felt so inclined. Real shame about those pictures, a real piece of history.

whats the quality of the videos contained in that torrent?
nothing pisses me off more than downloading something for two days only to not be able to view it fullscreen without it distoring and not being clear

Slow down MJ. Don't act like you and Paul are good friends. He tends to respect those who are a bit more discreet.

I watched a bit of the video. Paul seems like a really nice guy. I'll have to watch the rest one day. It's quite long it seems. I'd like to participate in one of his classes, but I doubt i'll ever be able to sadly.
