What scale do you recommend?

I am looking for something in the 0.1 gram to 100/200 gram range. Which model / vendor do you like? What did you pay? Are you happy with the quality and reliability?

Acculab makes some nice digital scales that are pretty cheap. I picked a top loader up on ebay for just under $100 US. It came with a calibration weight and was new in box. Works off both batteries (single 9v) and has an AC power adapter that came with it as well. It can weight up to 200 grams with a 0.01g accuracy. It has several display outputs, oz, g, etc. I have used it for more than a year now and it has never given me any problems. If you are doing more lab oriented work, both ohaus and mettler make some really nice scales, but they are going to be more pricey.

Hey I was thinking about buying a MyWeight Palmscale 150 from http://www.oldwillknott.com/ for $60. It's palm size, comes in a vinyl case, with calibration weight, tweezers, and scoop. 150 GRAMS X 0.1 GRAM readability w/tare feature Looks nice to me, this is the one I want to get. But, does anyone have any experience with this scale or brand? btw SouthernGent, I'd like to check out your Tyvo if you can post the addy for us. THX!

I own that exact model. I bought it from balances.com for the same price. Mine is black -- blue and chrome are a bit over the top. It's a fuckin' great scale and is easy to use. I highly suggest getting that model.

if you want one that can be easily transported, or is extra compact, the Tanita 1479 is very nice for about 74$. The newest version weighs 120 grams down to .1 (tenth of a gram) runs on coupla batteries. there are other really nice models of tanita and other brands, acculab etc, that have bigger platforms, weigh more, can plug in etc...they are in the 50-150 range also. my friend likes the (teenie) 1479 which he use for school chemistry class. the company sells them delivered for under 80$ and came quickly, good service.

dry shrooms are sooo lightweight. That my weigh looks good, but if you got the cash, the Ohaus brand last forever.

I've got the My Weigh i500. I'm very happy with it. You can replace the plastic tray underneath with that stainless steel one that they have sitting on top. Guess they just wanted to show both platforms that you can use with the scale in one pic.

While on the topic of scales, what kind of stores sell accurate ones? I don't have a credit card and haven't ordered online before.
