yesterday we found an eight by twelve patch of an aussie native woodlover - possibly Ps.Subaeruginosa and we counted approx. 500 mushrooms - and the entire area was covered with mushrooms. We found another patch not far away with one specimen that had a cap diameter of 2 1/4 inches!!!

ahhhhhhh...i can't find anything in this manicured city of sydney... all the possible spots for patches are probably obviated by fungicides and the local race course is fenced in, so no access to the residant horse's toilets... (hah)... any suggestions on where to look?

Greetings mushroom lovers... I'm a melbournian human with a keen interest in hallucinogens...have been interested in psilocybin for a while but hadn't been able to aquire any mushrooms for some time...until this morning. I was strolling along to school through a blanket of fog admiring the fungi growth when, low and behold...i stumble across a patch of psilocybe subaeruginosa. I returned to the spot and picked 130 of the critters...needless to say, it's been quite an enjoyable day. I have stored them in two jars of honey and plan on eating them with some friends this coming Saturday. Any information about dosage of this species relative to the strength of the trip would be greatly appreciated...

What about WA? It's been humid and raining lately, and Westralians been lucky?

how did you identify those?? You realise that this species is lignious??? Anyway Subaeruginosa are highly potent judging by the bluing reaction. I never store mine in honey - i always dry them quickly - in honey they tend to still stain blue and oxidies the psilocin. four to six will trip you VERY hard!!!

Been looking round Sydney now for a while, and i've thought this to be the case too, hudsonismss.....all the likely places in wood/bark mulch seem to have been treated with some red stuff which I guess is fungicides..... .....but I'm pretty good at finding inedible toadstools etc, lol! damn, you are lucky people in melbourne!

Evening...I identified them with the help of a friend who had tripped before on them without identification...so i also compared them to pictures on that aussie site that you posted and some erowid pics...not too sure what lignious means...the honey has lost its gloopiness and the mushrooms are sort of floating at the top looking extremely dark blue all over...have i ruined them by doing this? Also...came across another patch today close to the previous bunch...however these are slightly more difficult to identify. There are several smaller subaeuginosa growing that have dark brown caps like the previous lot but the majority are larger with a lighter cap and a pronounced knob at the top ...they all stained blue but i'd like to be 100 per cent sure...i'm hoping that they're just old...any comments?

your post made me curious, does the oxidation of psilocybin make it innactive? If your shrooms stain a lot, will that decrease their potency? the reason I ask Is because I found a patch of blue meanies a coulple of weeks ago, We waited till they were dry before we tried them, by this time thy were shrivled up to almost nothing., and looking very dark blue to black. I tried about 12 average size mushrooms, with little to no effect, And was woundering if i had enough, or the psilocybin had degraded or something. This was my first time trying mushrooms, And after all I had read about them, was a bit dissapointed at the lack of effects. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

By BlueMeanies do you mean Copelandia Cyanescens?? Well the bluing is assumed (it has never been proven) to be a sign of the psilocin and other fragile alkaloids oxidising. In mushrooms like Cubensis this is why the fresh specimens are so much more potent than dry - because most of the psilocin has oxidised and cubensis have a low amount of the more stable psilocybin. With woodlovers like subaeruginosa, even when the fruit has gone dark blue-black due to its high potency and the psilocin oxidisation, it should still contain a large % of psilocybin - and should still prove highly potent!! have fun!!
