fish bowl graveyard
    #6073283 - 09/18/06 07:45 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

The other day my brother came home with a bag full of minows, he put them in my fishbowl. I told him minows need running water to live, and he said they'd only be there for a few minutes, half hour max, so I left it at that and went out. I came home yesterday to find all the minows still in the bowl and dead, dispite my general displeasure about this, I couldn't help but wonder, what was it like when the first minow died, (assuming minows have thoughts and feelings) what did the rest of them think? and what was it like to be the last living fish, dying slowly, surrounded by all of your dead buddies....

"in times of widespread chaos and confusion, it has been the duty of more advanced human beings - artists, scientists, clowns, and philosophers - to create order. In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption"

""fish have no emotions, and feel no pain! you can tell by peering deeply into their beady little soul-less eyes!!""

a quote from a recent fishing trip, from a buddy in a mushroom induced state of mind

" If the sky were to suddenly open up there would be no law. There would be no rule. There would only be you and your memories... the choices you've made, and the people you've touched. If this world were to end there would only be you and him and no-one else. "

I wonder if they would even notice, and since fish have short memory spans, they would probably just forget anyways. I had a siamese fighting fish named Hermin and it lived for almost four years!

they can survive tap water however a fishbowl is a tiny volume of water to keep viable and is not suitable for one minnow let alone several. Once the first minnow died it was a chain reaction due to the decomposing water quality. I keep a couple of species of native minnows and they do very well in regular tap water but I keep them in a 90 gallon tank and change the water often.
