If you like to listen to nice mellow organic ambient music while tripping check out "Wave Mantra" by Sean Washburn. He's a friend of mine who created his absolutely mind blowing disc directly inspired by and conducive to mushy tripping. Harmonic chanting, native american flutes, chimes, didge, flowing water , crickets, drums etc.... it simply flows like water and floats you wether tripping or not. Highly recomended!! I know you can hear samples at mp3.com. Anyone listen to Steve Roach out there?

Some shroom inspired music would be
Mercury Rev
Sparklehorse
It's not ambient but it's brilliant.
Of course, we all know of the famous hallucagen inspired bands:
The Beach Boys (post Pet Sounds era)
The Beatles (Sgt Pepper Era)

Coil are quite an amazing psychedelic inspired band. Sometimes it can be a little harsh, but most of the time you just leave reality and zone out.

definitely OZRIC TENTACLES i always trip with that band...
+ NODEN ICTUS (with a member of O.T.) they are more ambient than Ozric.
You can download almost all songs of both of these from Audiogalaxy.com

id agree! Mercury Rev's 'cheekyness' and sensitivity is perfect for an interesting experience while tripping hard. It has that dreamy quality

Mind you I dont like b-grade mainstream tryhard 'i know ill sell because i sound just like previous bands that sold' crap. and I also cant stand ambient music that is made on crap sequencers - and those mp3 sites are full of that stuff...
Go for something original - not the mundane

Del the funky homosapien wrote almost all of his lyrics on shrooms and I'm sure he did much of his recording on it too. Also, Incubus used to do shrooms the most... the name of their first album is fungus amongus with a big shroom on the cover.

I guess I've heard from a few people that Tool's Schism is suspossed to be a good tripping album. There is a post right now in the Spirituality and Philosophy forum http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Forum11&Number=612646&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart= that explains some weird code the entire album is based on. I dunno. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Check out Paul Oakenfold - Another World, both disc are awsome, Disc 1 for the peak, Disc 2 for come down. He goes through a variety in his DJ mix, starting w/ some Native tribe stuff, to some deep trance, female vocals, all I can say about it is it's the shit!!! You should see him live whille tripping! now that is an experience
