Anyone else in the Pub right now dig this song?.....To me, it's by far the best song that I've ever heard. If there is a better song, I have yet to hear it. Between Roger's lyrics, David's solos, and Rick's keyboard work, this is one of the finest songs ever written.

It is an awesome track. Animals is one of my favorite Pink Floyd albums!
"Pigs Three Different Ones" is also awesome.

YEah, Pigs is awesome too......the lyrics on that song are top notch. I love how Roger did not hold back and they are so in your face.
I dont think that any Floyd album holds a candle to Animals.

I totally love Dogs!
My favorite bit is:
You have to be trusted By the People that you Lie to So when They turn Their backs on you You get the chance to put the knife in

Yes, that is by far my favorite line as well. And the guitar solo after that is soooooooooo goood.

I think the other reason I love Dogs (aside from the AMAZING lyrics) is the truly soundscape quality.
The music paints a whole world for you, I can think of few other songs you can completely surround yourself with...

You're right. It's amazing to me that Gilmour and Wright could say with their music what Roger was saying with the words. I mean David's guitar solos in that song really speak to me.
AS much as I love the rest of the Animals album, the other songs do not even come close to Dogs. The only other Pink Floyd song that speaks to me instrumentally like Dogs does, is Echoes.

My favourite part: And when you lose control, you'll reach the harvest you have sown.
Awesome song, I love the angry energy of that album, they didn't hold it back even a little

It's you'll reap the harvest you have sown. Easy mistake to make because those two words sound about the same.
And as the fear grows, the bad blood slowly turns to stone.
Yes, it's a very angry album, especially Pigs (Three Different Ones). I love the line "You radiate cold shafts of broken glass."

Haha, teah I know, I was thinking of reaching for boobies Actually my favourite from the album is Pigs (3do), and that line is certainly great. I so love the instrumental bridge with the pig sounding guitar
Pretty mad/awesome album indeed. Still can't decide which one is the best one tho, but I certainly listen to animals at least once a day, and the guitar solos from Dogs are so fun to play I'm just sad I'll never hear it live and there are so little bootlegs available from that era...

I was lucky enough to see Roger play it on the In The Flesh tour in 1999 and 2000.
There are actually shitloads of audio bootlegs from the Animals concert. There is also a really shitty and incomplete video that I found once, but it's not really even worth watching.
The Pig guitar is definately a great part of that album.
