The Pan subbs are here, and lots of em!!
    #605110 - 04/11/02 07:01 AM (21 years, 7 months ago)

Well, I checked the subb field yesterday after reading gumby's post, I've been too busy picking morels to check lately. Anyways as I approached the field I could see mushrooms growing before I even entered the field. Hopped the fence and right beneath my feet was a nice fat cluster of thick stemmed Panaeolus subbalteatus! I took a closer look around and saw that they were everywhere, and I mean everywhere! I picked 2 wet pounds in about 20 minutes, with the help of a friend of course. The subbs this year are much different from the subbs I was finding last year. They have thick grooved redish stems, very meaty, and big beautiful dark banded 1-2 inch caps. The smell is almost weilii and the taste is too, very magic tasting. My good friend ingested 40 wet grams against my advice, I told him to dry them first, he was too excited and ate them fresh anyways, knowing they can cause nausea. He had a classic psilocybin experiance, said it was almost too intense. These subbs ain't no joke this year, or maybe the earlier in season you find them the more potent they are, either way they're potent compared to last years subbs.

By now your probably asking yourself, where the hell are the pics, eh? Well, this dumbass Lizard was drinking a little and taking pictures of a party when he tripped, fell, and busted his ass. Camera was around my neck in its case but the top of the case wasn't zipped shut, camera fell out, hit the ground and broke. It has no scratches cracks or anything, it just doesn't recognize memory sticks anymore, says "memory stick error" when I turn it on. Gonna cost $200 to fix it, I'm not sure if I will or if I'll just buy a new one. Anyways, no pics for a while, it really pisses me off but oh well, shit happens. I'll have a camera again soon enough.

Sorry for the long winded post, Lizard has some premium nuggies today, decided to wake and bake this morning, haven't done that in a long time

Yeah, like levi said I'm around Atlanta, GA.

Levi, took your advice and the camera went to the shop today, will be 8-10 days before I get it back, I think I might be able to bear with it for that long

For anyone that doesn't know, LK takes the best of the pics and plenty of 'em! Ain't a season goes by without seeing some magic from LK's eye!
Yeah, blue ringers will probably be coming up pretty soon. Hell, I haven't found anything at all, but then again I'm just a damned homebody nowadays anyways! OUCH!
