maybe... it certainly wouldnt hurt them to walk, but then again we really dont know the full situation, we also dont know that she's driving them everywhere, they havent visited me yet

I have to pick my brother up from work each day, it's a $40 problem that prevents
his truck from taking him, that and a lack of insurance.

Yeah, probably. But even from a myopic viewpoint, it is her mother that threw her and her two children out to be homeless; I can't understand how in a concerned family a grandmother would allow her grandchildren to be homeless when she could easily prevent it.

"Anyway...as of right now, me and my two girls are homeless. I had been living in my mother's boyfriend's house and since he chose not to make payments...the bank foreclosed on the house and left us having to find a place rather quickly. "

It's interesting, she calls herself "DES" which is an acronym which happens to stand for "Department of Economic Security", the welfare office for poor people....coincidence?

I've stayed in forclosed houses before too, but the people that come to buy or fix it don't take too kindly.

She was living with her mother who kicked her out. (actually, the original post was kind of ambiguous- she may have left of her own volition)

Hmmm, I was left with the impression it was much more of a sad story about not paying bills and the house being TAKEN and forclosed.

I suppose I still feel bad, but meh I've been kicked out of houses by every family member I've ever lived with (Okay so that's just two) and my friends were always there for me.

I didnt say anything about her mother being a nice lady, under abusive parents,
siblings tend to stick together or murder each other, it's her brother and sister
she seems to be helping, not her mom.

Well my vote goes to the family over the city, but we all know how it's likely to end. Better to move forward than dwell on a failing present.

Alright, so I might be missing bits and pieces here, so help me out if I am.

She got in to an argument with her mother because her mother didn't feel like she was doing enough around the house? Maybe she should look in to apologizing to her mother and asking for her little ones to stay there. However, if there is any chance that she would be abusive to them in anyway, then don't.
Now is the best time to find a job, when you have a job, when you already have a job.I worked close to 100 hours a week sometimes over, and that's at one place, you live in Chicago, if I remember right? There has to be something there. It doesn't sound like you have any options there so maybe look at cheaper place, if you can drive yet.Check government programs, they may have a program that will help you find affordable housing , maybe there's even a program that will help you come up with a down payment.
Bank is out of the questions since you said you can't. I thought I read a post in the past were some one got allot of money for something, a family member, and you were going to ask them for a bit to move to CA or something? How did that turn out.?
If the city is against you, then maybe you should consider moving?

Like I said, I'm running on fumes here, very sorry if I got something wrong sweetheart.
There's always a way in life. I have had to learn that the hard way, but there's always a way, no matter how shitty the situation is. Just be smart, keep your head up, and think of your two babies.Unfortunately, time is not your friend, and you have very little of it to get the ball rolling. I wish you luck, if you were any were around here, I'd be able to help you out more.I'm sorry I can't :frown:. Good luck and lots of love to you and your babies, I'll keep you in my thoughts.

my two girls are homeless

Not to bash on you or anything, I sincerely hope you find a job and a place to stay  but jezus, why did you have a kid twice when you're dirt poor and presumably have no education? School would have been a better choice than having kids.

Republican Values:

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

I was married when I had my kids. I have an education. I wasn't dirt poor. Geezus. I had a home. I had a great job. I had a great life. Things happen.

Whatever. You're trying to bash me with words that aren't true. You don't know my history.

Right now, I'm staying with a friend. I'm still working like crazy. My mother did say I can stay at the house so that I can save up some money. It's going to taske time though. I still have crazy bills to pay.

My sister does not put gas in my car. She works in another town so she can't walk. She won't be able to work very much longer because she has another kid on the way.

I've only shared parts of the story, this is true. That's only because if I were to tell all details, i'd be writing a novel.

Zippoz is correct about the city fucking us. My mother hired a lawyer to sue the town for unlawfully keeping us out of our house during the last few months. They sent us letters claiming our house needed to be completely rewired before we could move in. They also made some other claims(I'm not clear on most of the details). Anyway, when the lawyer confronted the city and their lawyer about all these charges they had against us (including allowing our grass to grow over 6 inches), they claimed they knew nothing about any fire or any charges or anything against our family.
We have all the paperwork.

Anyway...I don't think it's real necessary to discuss what's going on with the city.  I appreciate those who have left kind words of support. I'm still trying to work through this.
