wood shavings in dung

i found a source of free dung- score! the dung has a lot of wood shavings mixed in with it. the wood shavings are used as bedding down here instead of straw. i wish they used straw because it is probally as good of a substrate as the shit. has anybody had luck with wood shavings in the mix? is it worth it to 'sort' through the pile to get a bigger concentration of shit?

I don?t think wood shawings will do any harm. Some strains of P. cubensis even colonize wood to some extent, and besides that it makes the dung airy.
