Injecting water?
    #604613 - 04/10/02 06:11 PM (22 years, 5 months ago)

How long should the water be boiled? should a top be kept on the water after boiling while it cools? How many CC's would you recommend inject?

This will be done after a first flush

Should all aborts be picked first??

I tried just injecting with a syringe but it would get clogged easily. During injection it would usually blow out of the cake somewhere. So I drilled 2, 3/8 holes in the cake with a 3/8 drill and bit. I alcoholed and flamed the bit first. I cleaned the bit off and re-alcoholed and flamed the bit between cakes. The holes go 3/4 of the way down the cakes. This makes a nice hole to inject the water in. This is much like the reservoir Tek used during jar prep. To see the results of this click on my avatar.

To answer your question directly this is what I do.
I get a new Dixie cup, pour some bottled water in it, draw it into the syringe, fill the holes in the cakes, empty the syringe, spray it with LYSOL, spray the needle shield with LYSOL, put the needle shield on the syringe, put the syringe in a zip-loc baggie, spray the inside of the baggie with LYSOL and seal it up till next time. I water once daily.

The cake should be cleared and could be dunked between flushes.

Hope this helps.
