Sterile LC Transfers

I want to prepare some LC jars but I am unsure of the method I want to use to transfer my LC to my substrate down the road. The syringe I have is only 1 1/2 inches long, therefore it won't even reach the bottom of a 1/2 pint jar. I was wondering if anyone had derived any alternative methods for transfering LC into a grain jar without using a syring, or a way to extract or pour LC into something smaller which i could then extract with a syringe. Very worse case scenario I know I can buy a longer needle but right now im looking for an alternative solution so I can use full pint or even quart jars to make my LC.
thanks for the help

where did you get your syringe from?
don't add the .com or .org for respect of shroomery.. where you got the syringe is possible not a sponsor. so with that in mind don't link, just us abbreviations.
and to answer your question, you could get a longer needle.
Or use a glove box to take the lid off (quickly), then put your needle where you want it. (try to do this quick as u can, don't forget to flame your needle)

The needle will usually not reach the bottom unless you have a very long needle or really short jar. You should make the second hole on the lid for air intake far enough towards the edge and have the liquid level low enough that you can just tilt the jar on it's side to have the liquid come to the needle and yet not touch the polyfil in the other tube.
It also helps to have a stir plate to mix the solution first thus bringing the myc to all parts of the liquid, even the very top.
BTW, when you say your syringe is 1 1/2 inches, make sure to say needle instead. It didn't trip me up, but little things like that make it hard for newbs to understand what's going on when the vocabulary isn't consistent.

can anyone suggest where to get a needle of the correct gauge 12g or 10g and atleast 5 or 6 inches long... Im currently using quart jars with 500ML of karo/water in them... and im faced with a hard time finding long aspiration needles or even hypoderic needles that are disposable and easily fit unto disposable syringes..
if anyone can spare one or knows where i can get it let me know..
peace indi

The only needles I know of that are even close to that range are the stainless ones that you use with the auto repeater syringes. They are usually used for live stock and even those only go up to 3".

When i create jars for liquid cultures, I create two holes in the lids. I then seal both holes with RTV silicon (found in the automotive section in just about any superstore). The silicon serves two purposes. First, it creates a self-healing injection port to reduce contamination. Second, even with the needle inserted through the silicon, you can tip the jars sideways or upside down without any leaking.

Type "inksupply" without the quotes into the address bar of your browser and hit ctrl + enter. Scroll halfway down that page and you'll find 4", 16ga, leur lock ink cartridge refill needles.

16 gauge is all you need, nothing bigger is needed a inch and a half is enough, you just need to have a hole close to the rim of the jar, you could use gallon jars if you want to, it doesn't matter you just tip the jar so you can get LC to your needle
