There just isnt enough action in MMA for me. I mean, I watch it, its interesting, but I dont understand the technicalities of it. Boxing is infinitely more interesting to me. Not those fat heavyweights who just hang on each other, but some middleweights or welterweights who move around and beat the snot out of each other.
I like MMA when their actually striking or something, but watching these guys lying on top of each other for 5 minutes at a stretch isnt exactly scintillating. I like watching some guys fight, like Chuck Liddell.
And then you have a show like The Ultimate Fighter, which is just horrible, imo. Compare that with The Contender on ESPN, a great show with great fighters.
I'm sure a bunch of you disagree, because MMA seems very popular here, but I just dont see the mass appeal...

My view is tottaly subjective since I train in Judo and JJ so I like the grappling part of MMA so I prefer MMA to boxing.
However, in terms of "entrainment" I think K-1 Max is the best fighting show/organisation.
K-1 (heavyweights) I find amazingly boring (for the same reasons that you find heavywieght boxing boring), since after the first round the fighters don't seem to be able to throw a decent kick.
K-1 max however has some of the best Lightweight Muay Thai and Kick Boxing fighters in the world and the rules are made in such a way that there's constant action. i.e they've removed most of the Thai clinch and they have only 3 round. So there are a lot of exchanges and a very fast pace
I "personally" find K-1 max to be even more entertaining the Myai Thai in Thailand.

I think of the "Big" MMA's, I definately like K-1 the best. Probably because I see it on all the time, but I've seen some nasty matches in K-1.
UFC is my least favorite...I just dont like much of it at all...I like Liddell, but other than that, none of those matches seem exciting.
