Before I spend the time to build this I was wondering if you all could look it over and tell me what you think.
This will be my first time cultivating and to case them I decided to use a locable cedar chest and inside that cedar chest I will place a 10 gallon teranniom filled with 2 inches of perlite rocks, this itself will have no lid but just a screen top, now the cedar chest itself I plan to intall air filters on the bottome corners around the teranium and to drill four small holes on the top of the chest. I also have 2 florecent blue bulbs I am contemplating installing on the top of the cedar chest. I think this rig will keep my future prizes secure and humid enogh with a decent air flow. This chest will also be put in the laundry room so I expect it to be very humid combined with the perlite rocks. Im a noob so let me know if you think this will work.

I wouldn't use any kind of wood as a FC . The humidity will make a mess out of it .

I would fallow HippieChick's advice, don't use wood. I can see many things going wrong with it especially cause mushrooms need moisture/humidity. And as HC briefly put it moisture and wood do not mix well for an extensive amount of time. I would go for something waterproof, e.x. plastic, that wooden chest lined with plastic rap, but then you might as well go for plastic. Glass would work also.

I could line the chest with a plastic tarp or something, would that help?

I lined the chest with clear thick plastic and then put the a glass terrarium inside that. I ended up layering the bottom layer 2 inches of lava rocks and then on top of that I put a mixture of perlite, cow manure, and Pete moss. I am mixing the standard pf formula with this. I filled the bottom 2 inches of water and have a duel air filter pumping air thru the bottom of tank and have the top of the tank covered with plastic as well. For light I have two soft blue florescent light bulbs running for a few hours everyday. Anybody see any room for improvements or mistakes I made? I hate being a noob.

It won't work. You'll need to colonize the pf jars separate from the bulk substrate.
Also, sitting a substrate on top of the perlite will cause it to become waterlogged and prevent fruiting. The perlite/lava rocks are to provide humidity. You need to keep the substrate separated from them. RR
