Innoculating a small town.

If someone lived just outside P.Cubensis's geographical range how could they go about bringing in a cube strain into the local ecosystem.

Say, for example northern Mississippi. What would be a good strain to use and what would be some good ways of introducing it.

There's no shortage of cow fields, what would be good spawning media for a cow field?

Could it be scattered, or would plugs work better? Maybe dig out small plugs and put the spawn in there. cover it up with either dirt, dung, or some type of casing material.

Anyone know anything about Hydro-gel? That might be usefull.

The strain of choice would need to be somewhat cold resistant.

Are there any other places they grow wild other than pastures? I can't think of any.

someone in AdvCult feeds their horses bread + spore prints. this seems logical enough to have the spores already in the cow pie when its plopped out. now you just need a lot of prints and some hungry(and friendly) cows

Get a new clean insecticide/herbicide sprayer. The kind that straps onto your back and has a little hand pump to presurize the tank. Add some clean water and all the spores you can find (it is easy to make spore prints in bulk when you don't care about sterility). Dress up like a city employee, strap on the tank, and take a walk spraying for "weeds" or "mosquitos" with nobody the wiser. The system works great for innoculating fields of natural substrate quickly and easily.

Just another spore in the wind.

crawl around the web. university of florida's mycology department has a very informative web site. do a search on mycology then search your state and try to find as much information on your states natural flora and fauna.

I live in the oregon coast range and have established an ocassionaly fruiting patch of cubensis in some tall grass in my pasture.I took fully spawned rice and put a plug into the center of the bunch grass we have now on the occasional summer rain we have a small flush(10-20 medium sized fungi).I will post photos if I am lucky again this summer.Bon Chance.WR
