so im in college now, and a friend who lives down the hall has some mushrooms he wants to make into a tea, but there are no stoves to boil water.
he wanted to know if he could put a microwave safe cup into the microwave with water in it and cook it until the water was boiling, then stick the crushed mushrooms into the water, stir them around for a minute, then put the cup of water/mushrooms back into the microwave until it started boiling again, then allowing it to steep for 10 or so minutes.
would this be efficient in extracting the actives, or would it kill them.
he says thanks

Or an electric kettle... those things work wonders... your... friend down the hall could boil water in about 3 minutes for all the tea he wants.. as for making tea in the microwave, I don't see the need to put it back in, just *carefully* boil the water in the microwave and follow any shroom tea recipe...

You could take the time to make a fire outside, old school. Thats how its been done since the beginning... All you need is a fire safe pot and a ladle.
But who wants to have to go find and then buy a fire safe pot. It really is a dumb idea unless you are like me and have never done that before. I think that would be pretty damn cool.
If I were you id just eat those puppies though.

Last time I tripped, I used snapple as the tea medium, without even heating it, and (apparently) didn't lose any potency. Level 4 off of 5.2 grams.

I have done mushroom tea with microwaved water and it works just as good imo. I have tripped verrry hard off microwaved water many times, as well with oven heated.

i never heat my water in the microwave but pretty much everytime ive made tea i use the boiling water that comes out of my water cooler thingy.
just throw the mushies in the water after you boil it and let them soak for like 15 minutes then strain em out.

^ do this 3 times and you are sure to get nearly all of the goodies.
