Does contam location matter?

i have noticed that 2 of 3 jars that i inocculated a few weeks ago are fully colonized, but they have a tiny (possibly green) spot smaller than a pencil eraser in the same location in both jars. Its hard to see cause the glass curves there. Does the location of a contam help to determin what step it happened in. Very disapointing to have fully colonized jars that might be contamed. The location of both contams for me is in the very bottom of the jar, right where it turns to form the walls. Heres a picture. The arrow points to the possible contams.

If I was you....I'd birth them and cut the green off...now ...while you still might be able to save the cakes. Are they almost fully colonized? they look like it.

if you try to salvage it, i would go with casing, instead of cakes. ive had a tiny(pencil eraser size) spot, but when i broke the cake up, it was mostly contaminated thru it, but you could only see the one small spot on the outside. if you case it, you can see if it goes any deeper than it appears just mho
