what just happened?

My friend is relativly new to the casing world(2/2 succesfull casings).
The first two casing worked out great (Eq's). Recently he started a new casing but he has no clue what strains he put in the casing (his mom switched around the jars).
The fruits are very small, reaching heights of about 2 or 3 inches (mature). The strains he colonized in jars were (eq,pr,taz,b+,gt,and tc). I read in the mushroom cultivator that high co2 levels are a posibility....but why would the eq's do fine and not these....it was the same setup and everything, except for the heating pad underneath the tank because my friend felt that he could get more than two flushes (what he got last time on both) if the heating pad was removed. (drying out casing).

I know I didnt write this very well but any constructive critizism, or hints/tips would be much appreciated! Ill get a pic from him and post it asap.
