Some of you more advanced mycophiles may be able to help me out when it comes to this question i've got bouncing around in my head. So Weilii are found in bermuda grass. What exactly is the nutrient source here? Do they feed on the grass? Grass seed? I'd like to get into the cultivation of weilii but i have no idea as to what to use as a substrate.

i was under the impression that weilli were a wood loving species, as i have heard they are thought to be very close relatives to psy Caerulipes i think it is. as for what they eat i would guess old dead tree roots similar to fairy ring mushrooms, but honestly i don't know for sure LOST

Ah! stroke of luck! The tree in my neighbors yard. Happens to be, and american sweet gum. They produce these spiky little balls. They're called gumballs generally, but yeah. They're comparable to pine cones i would suppose. I think that these might make a good substrate? any oppinions? these are what i think they might feed on!!!!

that is a good idea.. they are said to grow in close proximity to sweetgum and certain pine trees.. i know somebody did an indoor cultivation of psy caerulipes. if you look that up it might help try to colonize a few of those "gumballs" and let us know how it goes.. i have a few in my back yard and a weilli print in the stash.. i just don't have the time ATM to really work on such a project make sure to let us know how it goes either way LOST
