hey i live in gainesville, just moved here. heard there was supposed to be lots of mushrooms here. anyone know a good general area to start looking? on google earth i thought that NW (or sw i dont remember but i think NW) 53rd street looked like it ran along some fields but im not sure. anyone help me out tell me where there are some good fields in gainesville? thanks :mushroom2:

It's generally not acceptable to ask for locations at this site or any other site, because it does two things:

1. Puts the site at risk and its members
2. You might abuse the information or illtreat those who lead you to the psilocybes in the first place

In Florida there are several tropical mushrooms growing that are "active."

In cow and horse fields almost year round you can find Psilocybe Cubensis, Panaeolus Cyanascens, Panaeolus Tropicalis, and perhaps Panaeolus Subbalteatus. There's always a very, very my - nute (minute) opportunity at discovering an undiscovered species.

- Pick something and take a spore print at home

- Get an identification guide at a book store or online at normal book seller locations
