I have a friend who wants to grow some mushrooms because he's sick of the outrageous prices people sell them for (35$ and eighth). I would want to also, but am always traveling and am never in one place long enough. He asked me what the best method and strain would be. I told him that I like Hawaiins and Thai mushrooms because they are small and potent, but that I thought they were hard to grow. He said that he wants to grow one medium size batch with a casing technique, but wasn't sure what the best technique or best strain would be. I have read through a lot of the Techniques, but I would like people's personal opinion on this matter. What strain would you use? What is the easiest technique that gives a good size yield? Thanks. -Coz

I personally like Ecuadors. Good mushies and pretty resistant to whatever happens.

where i am at is so low in supply people are getting 45 n 1/8 all day long... thats why i started growing my own.. to damn expensive.. and its fun

IMO, The least expensive and time consuming to set up as well as lowest maintenance with a high yield is the double tub technique.

You can place it near a window where it will get indirect light for several hours a day. Then leave for two weeks and come home to fully matured mushrooms.

(Definitely go with the horse poo)
