We are products/results of the cosmos.
    #6014756 - 08/31/06 07:46 AM (17 years, 5 months ago)

If we are to assume the Big Bang is correct, then the initial gathering of elements in the early stages of the Big Bang (The Dark Ages) is our indirect creator. We are simply a complex and very distant product of the gathering of elements during this time period in the evolution of the universe.

Any other input on this? I was thinking about this late this morning. I couldn't sleep...

We are a phenomenon that has a sensitive dependance on our universe's initial starting conditions, this is true.

It is interesting how seemingly unimportant, random aspects of one of our days inevitably leads to a situation that changes the entire course of our lives. I don't believe people recognize exactly how powerful our ability to choose how to act is.

Very true. Up to the point where "choice" became an option for "something" (ie, us/humans), the universe had expanded and grown exactly as it should have; that is, assuming there was/is an exact law of scientific rules that the universe had to follow.

But perhaps just prior to life forming, the universe became concious of itself shortly after it's own creation, became interested/curious, and then wanted to explore it's existence; thus, it created us as little windows for the universe to view itself!

No shit   The real question IMO is "Why did the big bang occur?"  Is it the product of a never ending cycle of gravitational expansion and collapse?  Is the universe going to eventually rip apart and all of the atoms in it disasociate? Or did God just fart really hardcore and spooge some juice in boxers?

:hehehe: That juice spooging example was priceless

I wasn't starting this thread as if I had this never before seen epiphony. I was just seeing if other people have really come to terms with this concept that we are just cosmic dust essentially.

Oh, many people have realized the cosmic dust thing. You are not alone in that my friend.

Well, I hope I didn't come off as if I was trying to sound elitist or all knowing or something...

due to the nature of time
and consciousness

you cannot think of the cosmos as something with a begining and end
for example, energies forming into atoms, then molecules, then dna,
it's not a linear process like that,
it only seems like it to us

the big bang is happening right now

we are products of the cosmos
but we are a crucial component that upholds all production

human beings are intimately connected to all the vast universe
just by thinking

why did the big bang happen?
IT felt the need to prove its miraculous beauty to ITself
